JELENA + DANIEL

The Cove Jervis Bay

A little bit about yourselves: We have been together for 11

years. We met as kids on the South Coast at Gerroa where both

our families holidayed. Daniel is an Electrical Engineer and

Jelena is a Marketing Manager. We both live in South West

Sydney in our new home we build 5 years ago with our two

French Bulldogs Kali and Floyd.

Who popped the question and how? Daniel organised a trip to

Gerroa for the weekend with some friends for his birthday. He

and the boys went out fishing one morning while the girls went

out for breakfast. When we returned back to the house there was

a note that had a clue, which then sent Jelena on a big treasure

hunt around Gerroa to all their favourite spots. Each spot was

left with the next clue. The last clue was Daniel waiting on

Gerroa beach where he had set up a picnic and asked the

question Jelena had been waiting 10 years for!

Why you chose this venue: The Cove was a perfect choice

because we love the beach and it had the vibe, look and feel we

wanted for our wedding.

Was this a destination wedding? Yes

Why did you choose the NSW South Coast? The South Coast

holds a very special place in both our hearts. It is where we met

and had shared a lot of great memories. It only made sense we

got married there and created more magical memories.

Wedding theme/style: Bohemian beach vibes

Inspiration behind the day: We wanted a relaxed bohemian

style wedding. The Cove worked perfectly with this theme and

had so many beautiful elements that tied in well with the

styling of the day.

Best parts of the day: Ceremony – tying the knot (literally).

Instead of writing our own vows we tied the knot in front of

everyone with a big rope. The knot is called the Fisherman's

knot, which is the strongest knot that only gets stronger

overtime.

Advice you would give other couples: Organising a wedding

is a lot of work, so be sure to take it all in and enjoy every

moment of it because before you know it the day is over.

Any DIY projects: Daniel's father built our beautiful wedding

arch. We have generously donated this to The Cove for other

couples to use. Jelena made her own wedding cake.

Sources of inspiration: Pinterest was Jelena's wedding bible!

It helped her build colours, style and theme together to pass on

to her stylist.
